The National Center for Technology Management (NACETEM) originated following a recommendation of the 2nd Conference of Ministers responsible for application of science and technologies to the socio-economic establishment of Africa (CASTAFRICA II, 1987). They called for the development and harmonization of human resources needed to promote, project and propagate technology management in Africa.

Short-Term Courses

NACETEM Short-Term courses are aimed at developing and harnessing human resources needed to promote, project and propagate technology management in Nigeria, within the West African sub-region and in Africa as a whole. Each of these courses is designed to equip participants with specific knowledge and skills in one area of Technology Management or the another. More than 750 middle-high level manpower have been trained under the NACETEM short-term programmes.

Workshops and Conferences

NACETEM orgranises workshops which are directed at policy makers and cognate stakeholders at the Local, State and Federal levels of government, to ensure that they are well informed for effective decision making. Quite significant among these programmes is the periodical Experts Forum on Science and Technology Management organised for members of S&T Committees of the Nigerian National Assembly and the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Dialogue for ST&I Managers at the State and Local Governments.
